Digital printing and image management software for commerce, industry and retail applications including photographic workflow solutions for Fujifilm Frontier© Minilabs and Drylabs (DX100, DE100, DL650 and DL600 models)
BlueFX printing workflow software offers an easy and powerful solution to printing images to Frontier Dry and Wet labs. Use the economy and flexibility of the Fuji DX100 and Fuji DE100 printer models or the speed and capacity of the larger Fuji DL650 and Fuji DL600 printer models. Some of the more requested features include
- Hot folder printing.
- Drag-and-Drop from Mac, iPad or Android tablet.
- Automatic image sizing and rotation.
- Combine say 4 x Fuji DX100 into a Micro-Lab
- RIP software.
- Create panorama prints automatically.
- Colour correction and ICC profiling.
- Kiosks, Events and photo booths.
- Print orders over a network – WLAN(Wireless) or LAN.
- Direct batch printing without the need for Photoshop.
- Simple printing from programs such ROES, ImageQuix, Express Digital Darkroom, TimeStone, PhotoLynx, DP2 and others.
Images in digital form provide countless opportunities and pose many challenges. The question often is: how can we streamline the process? One of our major strengths is in the ability to produce software drivers and applications to “Output” devices like Fujifilm© Frontier DL650, Frontier-S DX100 and the new Fuji Frontier DE100 to make “print products”.
So consider these three dry minilab printers: the Fujifilm© Frontier DL650 Dry Lab printer together with the smaller Frontier-S ‘SmartLab’ DX100 model and the new budget Frontier DE100. Our BlueFX Printing Software solution enables integration of these printers into new and existing workflows (see features).
Thus allowing printing from various Kiosks, ROES, LifePics, PhotoLynx, Workstation software like Adobe© Lightroom and Darkroom©, DP2 and Schools software like Timestone© – even printing from your Macs or iPads via Hot Folders on the LAN.
The soon to be released Frontier DE100 from Fujifilm makes it easier and cost effective for behind the counter printing and instant printing. BlueFX makes it simple and affordable to boost your productivity by linking two or more DE100’s into a Micro Lab printing via Hot Folders, BlueFX’s Drag-Drop-Shoot, or from x-Studio.

Since the start of photography, the latent image has been a very powerful method of communication but in the early days was restricted by its limitation to its paper form. With digitization came the possibilities to expand the printing possibilities via Digital Film Recorders, Digital Minilabs and Digital Printers. Similarly there were challenges in the management of images: Internet print ordering systems, image libraries, social networking, events photography and schools photography with the printing of picture metadata are some of the areas that have embraced and developed the technology.
In-house expertise has been instrumental in the development of photographic kiosks in the Retail Industry, Events Industry, and Theme Parks worldwide. Foremost was the ability to handle and manipulate a wide range of image file formats – many of the files could be malformed by say damaged exif headers or by photo editing software which might not preserve camera information. Image repair can be undertaken alongside, image rotation, image resizing, image resampling to match the format of target photoprinters and image enhancement to improve the appearance of the digital image.

These either required the use of manufacturers Software Development Kit (SDK) like Adobe© Acrobat X SDK or direct programming providing a path for legacy migration and an on-going legacy software support structure within a software maintenance process. And over the years we have built up a considerable knowledge in communicating with devices from many of the major equipment manufacturers such as Fujifilm©, Kodak©, Agfa©, Noritsu©, HP©, Canon©, Epson©. We created novel print products to include the formatting of multiple print sizes on single sheet media as in Schools Photography and Events Photography whilst adding metadata to scanned images. And also standard print capabilities and solutions for many well-known high street retailers worldwide who have benefited from our expertise, producing millions of printed images!
BlueFX Lab connections...Now with “BlueFX” we are able to convert orders including DPOF from a number of Kiosks like Noritsu© CT and Oblo© to support various MiniLabs including the new Epson SureLab© D3000, Fuji Drylab, and other printing devices and generic Printer-Driver format. In one implementation, BlueFX drives the process to target a designated d-Lab; enable Cluster printing with multiple d-Labs; and sets the ICC profiling of orders. In another, BlueFX enables the download and management of XML orders to a Web fulfilment workflow – editing, color correcting, printing. In addition, BlueFX allows support for Agfa© d-client (part of d-workflow a PfDF data manager) on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 Operating Systems; and the direct importing of .b00 (PfDF orders) files.
Custom Software Development...More generally, we are also custom software developers, servicing software, undertaking custom and bespoke software coding not just involving “picture code”. From dealing with application support and computer software maintenance of legacy code and other software maintenance activities as part of a legacy software support structure, to building new applications and modules to address unique problems and issues within a production environment.
